weekend recap

per usual on my first day back from a tex visit i am in an absolute crap mood. i know i'll cheer up once i get back into my routine but for now i'm wallowing in missing my boo. as for the weekend, it was pretty much perfection. four whole days together are pretty unusual and we soaked it up. not anything too exciting to recap but here's my weekend in photos...

on friday i had a solo lunch date at panera after visiting tex at school. he had to teach friday during the day so i hung out by myself and ran some errands to get ready for the spaghetti sauce experiment on sunday.

if you think saturday morning starbucks runs are the way to go you are wrong. saturday morning whataburger runs are a lot better.

saturday night margarita runs are even better than that. i already miss the texas mexican food. can i go back now?

spaghetti sauce started around 1:30, finished around 7.

worth all the hard work and love, i think. i'm pretty sure i've now locked it up with tex for life by at least halfway successfully completing this sauce. i ate mine on spaghetti squash (because i cannot get enough of the stuff), tex ate his on half a box of rigatoni.

i also consumed no less than 2 full boxes of cereal over the four day weekend. i tried cinnamon puffins for the first time and i have no damn clue why i was waiting so long to pull the trigger on buying these. not a mistake i'll make again, you can be sure of that. i'm ready for a re-stock already.

i'm planning on doing a recap of the spaghetti sauce when i can get my thoughts together a little bit more but for now, happy tuesday. i hope you all aren't in quite the funk that i am.

  1. You are a champ. 2 boxes of cereal is right around my status. I definitely kill a box of cinnamon puffins in one day... it's a huge problem when my hand reaches the bottom of the box. I'm in a funk too. But we can get through it. Nothing a few ranty texts can't cure ;)

  2. I'm sorry love :( I know how you're feeling today, and it sucks. Nothing else to say about that, other than I'm sooo happy you guys had such a great weekend and that you got some extra time together :) Oh, and I'm mad at you for showing off spaghetti squash again...I must find some this weekend cause now I have a mad craving for it. Thanks ;)

  3. I hope that I get to try Texas Mexican food sometime in my life. I hear it is GOOD and I am a huge fan of Mexican food, so I can only imagine! The margaritas wouldn't hurt either ;).

I have yet to try the Cinnamon Puffins because I know I will like them way too much. I love the Peanut Butter Puffins, but rarely buy them because I cannot control myself around them! :/

I hope your day gets better!

  4. you called him boo. You are certainly hallucinating right now. but we all sometimes need to just roll with the schedule, put on our big girl smile and EAT ALL THE CEREAl. I could help you dominate some of those puffins if you ever need help. Just saying...

One day I will actually be serious and encouraging, I don't know when that will be. Still love me?

And hold up, you ate Texas food? Like not food places that you could get in DC for over three times a day? WHERES THE PLAIN YOGURT

  5. 2 boxes? No prob. Cereal is perfect for breakfast, snacks, lunch, dinner, and dessert. Or all of them. And now I need to go search for cinnamon puffins.

  6. Hahaha I second Alex's comment above :P Did you buy those Puffins at WFs?

I've always wanted to make some sort of snack mix out of Puffins and nuts - thanks for the reminder... Between Ryan and I, a box of those doesn't last more than a day in our house - Costco needs to start selling them in bulk. It would be a wise investment on their part.

And I cannot wait for the spaghetti recap - Ryan already has invited himself over for some after he saw your pic on IG - until he realized that you were in Texas :P

  7. Your spaghetti sauce adventure seriously makes me want to try to make my own. Can't wait to hear more about it! And I hope your day goes fantastically wonderfully perfectly well so it can kick your funk in the booty and you can feel better :)

  8. I buy jumbo or family sized boxes of cereal ... it would be a terrible thing if those disappeared in a single day.

My heart is hurting because yours is hurting. I can't wait for my smiling Molly back. :)

  9. I know leaving your man is hard, oh do I ever, but just keep in mind that when you see him again, you'll be able to experience another "first kiss, and first hug", that couples who don't deal w/ distance can't appreciate <3. Also never say Good-bye when your leaving one another, try "see ya later".. I promise, it makes things seem a bit easier :)

  10. It makes my heart glad to see people that share my cinnamon Puffins addiction... I tend to rotate between a few different kinds of cereal on a daily basis, or I'm pretty sure that I'd go through a box of those suckers super fast. Heck, my addiction is already kind of pricey... But we all have our vices... it helps with the funk that I'm definitely feeling too. Stupid February.
